Our Story

I started working part-time at OSAKA SUSHI HOUSE in January 2016 and enjoyed it because cooking is my passion. My strong desire to learn a lot in this job, like making rolled sushi and cooking different menus, led me to share some recipes I know for our hot meals with my employer. I also suggested creating various rolled sushi, which was a success.

Within three years of working with my employer, he trusted me and let me do the job from opening to closing. It’s like I already own and run the business, and it appeared to everyone I am managing that I had contributed much to it.

That’s true because, in the corner of my mind, I indeed dream of it. I wish I could have a business of my own, but a bit different compared to what my employer has. I want to create and enhance my own recipes and cooking techniques. I had fantasized not to stay forever as a simple worker only but to run and manage a business of my own in order to help and assist my husband in supporting our daily needs and expenses.

There was a time I found a chance to start a business making rolled sushi and selling Filipino food in Waipawa, but I was discouraged by the thought of not having enough capital and the uncertainties of introducing it to the public as I am only a neophyte in putting up a business.

My beloved husband alleviated my grief of not fulfilling this plan by giving me hope of waiting for my employer to give up and sell his business in the future. I just smiled, thinking it would be impossible. It didn’t occur to me that it would become a reality, as after two weeks, my employer informed me that he already wanted to sell his business.

I brought this matter to my husband, and he became interested. He decided to talk and made an offer to my employer, and they agreed. Finally, a realization of a dream came true. I acquired it and am now operating under my management.
